How do your respond to instructions and corrections?

He that refuseth instruction despiseth his own soul: but he that heareth reproof getteth understanding.

(Proverbs 15:32)

We need instructions in our daily life to grow in wisdom and understanding. In all fields of work, whether he is a doctor, engineer, businessman, mechanic, or whatever work he does, he needs instruction. So, in our Christian life, we need instruction, how much more if you minister to others. We need instructions in order to live the Christian life, to find success, and to avoid failures. We also need instructions when we fail so that we can do it right and not repeat the same mistakes over and over again. We need instructions to motivate us to do right. But a person who does not want to listen to instruction is proud, thinking he knows all. He thinks he is a better person than others. It takes humility to listen to instructions. He who refuses instruction is depriving himself of the opportunity to learn and grow. Thus, King Solomon said, he that refuseth instruction despiseth his own soul. How can a person gain understanding if he refuses instruction? People dislike criticism but if there is indeed a contradiction to one’s belief or ways, and he will not listen to correction, he will not improve and he will not know that there are errors in what he believes or does. You must hear first, and be willing to be reproved and you will get understanding.

Making Right Decisions is Important

As we live, no one is without problems and struggles. There are so many obstacles, burdens, and temptations. But then making the right decisions is important.

PRAY FOR WISDOM

If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. (James 1:5-6 KJV)

BELIEVE WHEN YOU PRAY

Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done. And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive. (Matthew 21:21-22 KJV)

KNOW AND FOLLOW GOD’S WILL

Know what God’s will is and stand for it, even though there are hardships and difficulties.

If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself. (John 7:17 KJV)

The integrity of the upright shall guide them: but the perverseness of transgressors shall destroy them.
(Proverbs 11:3 KJV)

The righteousness of the perfect shall direct his way: but the wicked shall fall by his own wickedness. The righteousness of the upright shall deliver them: but transgressors shall be taken in their own naughtiness. (Proverbs 11:5-6 KJV)

Problems cannot be solved by choosing the easy way or making another mistake to solve the consequences of one mistake, but no matter how hard, always seek wisdom from God and hold on to what is true and right. God bless!!!
