Leadership is influence. Even if a person is placed in a position, yet if he has no ability to influence others, it will not make him a leader. If a person has the ability to influence others, then he is a leader.

There are two kinds of leaders, good and bad. Bad leaders are those who influence others in doing bad things. Good leaders are those who influence others in doing good. We ought to be good leaders, a good influence toward others.

Leaders are initiators. If there are things needed to be done, he initiates and sets the example for others to follow. Leadership is taught in the Bible.

And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise.
(Luke 6:31)

There is no problem with taking initiative as long as we do not overlap or assume authority not given to us. Soul-winning is Christ’s command that we Christians should take the initiative of evangelizing the lost.
